Easy Homemade Granola (of the Apple Cinnamon Variety)

Homemade Apple Cinnamon Granola

Homemade Granola

When I saw the price ($7 *gasp*) of a delicious looking bag of granola, I decided there must be a better way!

Well, guess what!  There is!

Not only is homemade granola cheaper, it is tasty, quick and oh so easy!

Homemade Granola Ingredients

All you need to do is:

Mix your dry ingredients in a big bowl:

  • 4 cups of rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup of unsweetened coconut
  • 1/2 cup of chopped nuts (I used walnuts)
  • 1/4 cup of dried fruit (I used cranberries)
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
Then, pour in your wet ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup of apple juice
  • 1/2 cup of melted coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup of honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Stir up the bowl to moisten all dry ingredients.  Spread onto a cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

That’s it.  Done!  Now mix into your yogurt or munch away!
Of course, you can mix and match your ingredients to your taste.  For a great pictorial reference, check out: http://www.recipetineats.com/homemade-granola-muesli/

    Hi Bri,
I am allergic to coconut. What can you recommend that I use instead?

Hmmm…maybe some flaxseed, sunflower seeds or another type of nut to give the mixture some variety:) check out the link at the end of the post as that site had some great mix and match ideas!
